Synopsis:
Superman investigates a subway tunnel collapse and rescues city inspector Hughes. Hughes was beat up by two thugs working for Star, Inc. who were trying to cover the fact that the construction company used shoddy materials in the construction of the tunnel.
Superman visits the offices of Star, Inc. where he forces the leader, Lyons, to sign a confession of the poor construction. He then trails the thugs who are driving an invisible car to their hide-out.
Inside Superman is caught and imprisoned in crystal by his foe, the Ultra-Humanite. Superman breaks free from the crystal and nearly catches Ultra, but the mastermind escapes in the invisible car, leaving the thugs behind for Superman to capture.
