Synopsis:
A criminal couple adopts Herbert Willinger from the Gotham City orphanage. They choose Herby because of his drawing skills. When Herby befriends several rich children and visits their homes, the couple uses Herby to produce drawings of their houses. With the drawings to assist them, the couple begins robbing the houses. Batman and Robin interrupt one robbery. The crooks escape, but not before dropping one of Herby's drawings.
When Herby takes ill, Batman and Robin come up with a plan to catch the crooks. Dick Grayson is sent to the orphanage after a staged fight with Bruce. He then demonstrates his drawing skills and is adopted by the couple who have returned in disguise for another boy. Dick leads the crooks into a trap with a phony drawing, but they get wise to the trick. They leave Dick for dead, but he frees himself. Batman and Robin then capture the couple. Since Dick was supposed to still be in the trap, his secret identity remains safe.
