Synopsis:
While stopping at an inn in Transylvania, Jason Blood witnesses fear in the townspeople. They tell tales of the Howler, a murderous creature that prowls the night. Jason dares to leave the inn. He rides a horse out of town, but the Howler pursues him. Jason brings forth Etrigan who unleashes fiery blasts which chase off the creature. Merlin then appears to explain that the Howler is a man possessed by a primal entity.
Following the encounter, Jason boards a flight back to Gotham City. A man named Eric Shiller joins the flight. He tells Jason that he is the Howler. Jason brings Shiller back to his apartment to attempt an exorcism. The ritual is interrupted by Glenda Mark. The delay gives results in Shiller transforming back into the Howler. Etrigan again blasts the creature who falls out a window to his death. However, the primal entity inside of Shiller may have transferred to a bystander following the death of its host.
