Synopsis:
After his life was saved by a fortune teller as a child, Jim Hart has obsessively followed his horoscope. He becomes a success at college, succeeding in athletics and as a physicist. Jim becomes a leader in the field of radio physics and works to develop a submarine detection device.

Jim's rival Norwood provokes Isobelle Sandow, Hart's fiancee, to move their marriage to an earlier date. Jim refuses because he thinks the stars are out of alignment. Isobelle becomes angry and throws her engagement ring at Jim. It lands on his submarine detection device, and the metal in the ring completes a circuit which enables the device to function.

Starman tries to convince Jim that his astrological beliefs are merely superstition. He then takes the plans for the sub detector to the Navy. Norwood returns to the lab and reveals himself as a Nazi agent. He and his men steal the device and kidnap Hart. Starman tracks them down and rescues Jim, who finally realizes that his belief in astrology was ridiculous.
