Synopsis:
Hank Howard, a veteran paratrooper, is fished out of the Pacific more than thirty days after his patrol went missing. Hank is catatonic, so he can't explain what happened. Another squad is sent to follow the same path in an attempt to learn the facts. When the patrol plane enters a cloud bank, it is attacked by a pterodactyl.

The dinosaur destroys the plane. The paratroopers bail out and throw grenades at the monster. When they land in the ocean, they are attacked by other dinosaurs. The survivors of the squad make it to a small floating island which is then attacked. As the island around them is destroyed, the paratroopers are rescued when a passing fighter plane bombs the creature.
