Synopsis:
Rittmeister Hans Von Hammer wins his 50th victory of World War I by shooting down a French plane. On his next mission a stray bullet wounds him. Despite the wound which causes blood to run into his eyes, the Hammer of Hell shoots down the English plane.

After recovering from his wound, the loner pilot goes hunting in the Black Forest. He befriends a wolf whom he sees as a kindred spirit. Von Hammer then takes to the skies again, guarding a zeppelin on a bombing run. Von Hammer shoots down three French planes, but the last one crashes into the blimp, downing it. Von Hammer then returns home.
