Synopsis:
Easy Company is joined by a new replacement named Sharkey. The new soldier is a combat vet, but he is a bigot that immediately dislikes Jackie Johnson. Rock and Bulldozer come to Jackie's defense, but they fail to change Sharkey's opinion. Sharkey then gives Jackie a penny like he would give to a beggar which he intends as an insult. Instead of getting angry Jackie remains calm.
In combat Sharkey proves himself a good soldier, but his mouth begins to create problems for Easy. Little Sure Shot wonders when the bigot will target him since he has a different skin color too. When Easy encounters a tank, Sharkey is wounded. Jackie comes to the soldier's aid and despite his own wounds, carries Sharkey to safety. Sharkey then realizes that he was wrong about Jackie, who returns the penny as a symbol of Sharkey's changed attitude.
