Synopsis:
Franklin Owen is a desperate man who has known only poverty and misery. He seeks out a sorcerer named Mr. Gaufridi and bargains his soul in exchange for power to enrich himself. Using his new power, Franklin robs an armored car. While fleeing the scene, police shoot at him and he injures his leg on a fence. A tramp then mugs him of his ill-gotten gains in an alley. When Owen finds the tramp in a bar, the patrons beat him.

Franklin recovers in the hospital and decides that his powers brought him nothing but trouble. He seeks out Gaufridi again to undo his bargain. On the doorstep, he sees a rich man pass by the house. Owen is envious of the man's wealth, so he changes his mind once again. During his next caper, Owen has done in by a witch.
