"The Quest Part II"
Pages 4-15 of this story are divided into two parts. The main story continues on the top of the page. The bottom third of the page tells the back story of Timgad following an adventure of Ogir Falconeye.
Synopsis:
Travis Morgan and Tara cross a vast desert. They are nearly out of water when they spot a citadel in the distance. The city which appears empty is Timgad, the Citadel of the Sorcerer Kings. The couple finds a well. While drinking, they are attacked by hobgoblins. During the ensuing fight, Morgan falls through a trap door and lands in a hallway below.
Morgan discovers a box that glows with magic and a skeleton. The skeleton belongs to Ogir Falconeye, a wizard who entered the city long ago to steal the magic box. He fell through the same trap door as Morgan and was attacked by a blob creature. Leaving the box behind, Ogir constructed a mystic circle to keep the creature from reaching him. However, he was trapped inside the circle and eventually starved to death.
When the creature attacks Morgan, he takes refuge in the enchanted circle. The Warlord then faces the same dilemma as Ogir, except he still has the magic box in his possession. Morgan opens the box and finds a magic gem. He combines the gem with a pendant from the skeleton. The combined magic drives off the creature. He then reunites with Tara, chases off the remaining attackers, and plans to use the magic gem in his upcoming confrontation with Deimos.
