Synopsis:
After Travis Morgan and Shakira return to Castle Deimos through the magic mirror, the portal remains open. A black unicorn from another realm comes through. It scratches Shakira, then runs off. Next, a hunter emerges from the portal before Jennifer Morgan can seal it. The hunter attacks the Warlord, but is put to sleep by one of Jennifer's spells.

While the hunter sleeps, Jennifer probes his mind. She learns that his name is Waynah Hunnuh, a hunter who captured the unicorn and brought it home to his tribe. While he was away on another hunting trip, his entire village died of a plague caused by the unicorn. It also escaped. Waynah changed his name to Scarhart and pursued the beast That pursuit led through a waterfall which acted as a portal which brought both man and beast to Castle Deimos.

The scratch Shakira received causes her to develop the plague that killed Scarhart's village. The Warlord leaves the castle in pursuit of the unicorn in hopes that it can provide a cure to Shakira's illness. After Morgan leaves, Scarhart awakens and knocks out Jennifer. He follows Morgan, who has tracked the unicorn to a dark area inhabited by strange plants. The plant tentacle have caught the unicorn and are trying to consume it. Morgan saves the beast, but he falls victim to the plants himself.
