Synopsis:
Travis Morgan rescues a cloaked man from a pack of lizard-dogs. Morgan is wounded during the fight. The man, Krystovar, offers medical assistance and is intrigued by the Warlord's helmet. He explains that helmets of that design were worn by a noble Atlantean group known as the Sea Eagles. Their leader Lord Norrad founded a colony called New Atlantis between the surface world and Skartaris eons ago.
Before the tale is completed, the Warlord and Krystovar are captured by the Brood, the masters of the lizard-dogs. While imprisoned on a ship, Krystovar finishes his tale, explaining that the colony was taken over by an evil Atlantean prince who had Norrad killed. With his dying words, Norrad left a prophecy that when his helmet was returned to New Atlantis, the evil would be defeated. The current ruler of New Atlantis is a descendant of the evil prince. The Brood are his minions.
Before reaching New Atlantis, Morgan escapes the ship and dives into an underground river. Krystovar remains behind. Morgan soon discovers an Atlantean weapons cache. He commandeers an attack sled and other weapons and uses them to free Krystovar. The ruler of New Atlantis is killed in the fight. Morgan and Krystovar escape.
When the danger is over, Morgan re-examines a cartridge he took from the weapons cache. It contains a USAF insignia and the name Lt. Robert Cole. The Warlord vows to investigate the mystery someday.
