Comments:
This issue is the first appearance of the post-Crisis Legion of Super-Heroes. Though their adventures appear to be a direct continuation from previous issues, the post-Crisis versions of the Legion characters are considered to be entirely independent from their Earth-1 counterparts.
Synopsis:
Star Boy leads a team of Legionnaires to Xanthu to investigate the disappearance of the planet's champion, Atmos. After a thorough investigation, the Legion determines that Atmos is no longer on the planet. The Science Police also provides further evidence which indicates that lawmen from several worlds have mysteriously disappeared under similar circumstances. When it has been determined that Atmos will not likely return soon, the Tribune of Xanthu requests that Star Boy remain behind to act as champion. Star Boy resigns from the Legion, while the rest of the team returns to Earth to begin a search for the missing lawmen.
