Synopsis:
The Luck Lords create an improbable set of circumstances that allow Mekt Ranzz, aka Lightning Lord, to escape from prison on Labyrinth. Their goal is to eliminate Mekt's brother Garth Ranzz whose death at this time of convergence will allow chance to dominate the universe instead of science.
The Luck Lords reflect on events from Garth's life including his fateful crash on Korbal that gave him his lightning powers. It was the interference of the Luck Lords which causes the Ranzz ship to crash. The Lords also witness, Garth's death and revival, the loss of his arm, his previous battles with Mekt, and his wedding to Saturn Girl.
When Mekt arrives on Earth he confronts Garth in the plaza outside Legion Headquarters. He uses devices to capture Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl. The devices are linked to Garth's lightning. If he uses his powers, he will risk electrocuting his wife and friend. Despite the conditions. Garth prevails and defeats Mekt.
