Comments:
The present day portion of this story, featuring the modern Fury (Lyta Trevor), occurs between pages 20 and 21 of Infinity Inc. #35.
Synopsis:
Lyta Trevor, the modern day Fury, descends into a crevice in Athens to retrieve a piece from the Altar of Erebus. She is met by the Furies of Myth Tisiphone, Alecto, and Megaera. They tell her that she is the daughter of Helena Kosmatos, a Greek woman that lived during World War II.
Helena lived with her mother and brother Michael during the Nazi occupation. Michael was a collaborator which broke their mother's heart and caused her death. Full of rage, Helena ran from the house cursing Michael's name. She fell into the same crevice and met the ancient Furies.
The Furies bestowed Helena with great power. Helena used this power to fight the Nazis as Fury. When her anger became even deeper Helena transformed into the Blood Avenger, a demomic creature. As the Blood Avenger, she killed Michael who was leading a group of Nazis spies to England. Afterward, Helena reverted to her normal persona without memory of becoming the Avenger. She was then picked up by Johnny Chambers and a group of sailors who took her to America to live with her uncle.
