This story in continued from Swamp Thing #57.
Synopsis:
Swamp Thing returns to Ranagar to contact Adam Strange. When Adam sees him again, he believes that Swamp Thing is a threat until the plant creature begins speaking English. Swamp Thing then explains how he came to Rann and offers to help restore the Rann ecosystem.
When the Thanagarans learn that Swamp Thing is helping the Ranagarans, they become angry that their own aid proposal has been rejected. They attack Swamp Thing while he is trying to restore life to a barren desert. Suspecting trouble, Adam comes to his aid and kills the Thanagarans. He suspects that they wanted the zeta-beam technology to invade Earth.
After Swamp Thing is able to partially restore Rann's ecosystem, he plans to visit a planet near Minraud which is inhabited by a vegetable civilization. He asks that Adam deliver a message to Abby when he returns to Earth. After Swamp Thing departs, Adam learns that Alanna is pregnant with his child.
