This story is continued from Wonder Woman #30.
Synopsis:
The Amazons of the hidden city raid the village of Syene Kesh in search of Barbara Minerva. Chuma defends his mistress while Wonder Woman tries to stop the raid. Chuma's delay tactics allow the Cheetah to regain her strength. She then begins killing Amazons. Wonder Woman saves the queen Anahid, which finally convinces them of her intentions.
Wonder Woman and the Cheetah are then left to fight each other one-on-one. When Chuma tries to drug Wonder Woman with a poison dart, the Amazons intervene to give Diana time to recover. The battle the concludes with Wonder Woman finally beating the Cheetah into submission.
Chuma lays dying. He pleads for Diana to spare Minerva. He tells Wonder Woman where her lasso is located. Diana finds it alongside the treasure stolen from the Amazons, the Golden Girdle of Gaea.
