Synopsis:
Sardath has created a mega-zeta beam which will transport Adam to Rann permanently. When Adam returns to Earth for perhaps the final time, he visits his father in the hospital. He is terminally ill and cared for by Adam's sister Janey. Adam shares his secret with them, but they don't believe him. Adam consoles himself in the company of a female doctor. That night as Adam and Dr. Fox begin getting close, the hospital calls to inform the doctor of Mr. Strange's passing.
Back on Rann, Sardath prepares an Adam Strange Museum to honor the hero who will become first citizen. However, many of the people are not happy. They feel useless, due to the overabundance of automated work done by machines. Alanna, who is pregnant with Adam's child is also a target. Some people are referring to her child, due to be the first born in Ranagar in 20 years, as a half-breed.
When Adam catches the mega-zeta beam, he experiences pain and hallucinates. He sees Sardath removing his unborn son from Alanna too early. He then offers up his daughter to a line of aliens to rape her. Adam is enraged when the beam completes his transit to Rann. He attacks Sardath and nearly kills him. Alanna is able to stop him. However, the attack brings the guards including their captain Delaken who chases Adam away.
