Comments:
This story reveals that Phantom Girl is presumed dead. The appearance of Phase in L.E.G.I.O.N. '89 #9, which went on sale three weeks prior to this issue, was meant to show that Tinya was transported back to the 20th Century where she joined the L.E.G.I.O.N. However, the timeline was later altered such that Phase is actually Tinya's cousin Enya Wazzo. For the purposes of this index, Phase will be considered to be Enya, not Tinya.
Synopsis:
Kono, a young Sklarian girl, evades authorities on Rimbor using abilities which allow her to transfer between objects, including herself. Kono is wanted by the chairman of Silverale Ltd., a corporation threatened by the work of smuggler Jo Nah. Kono works with Jo.
When the Science Police fail to apprehend Kono, the chairman hires Khund mercenaries. The mercenaries track Kono to the sewers and follow her back to Jo Nah. After murdering one of Jo's associates, the mercenaries destroy an entire block in order to take their prey by surprise. However, Jo was using his invulnerability, so he survives the attack.
Angry that the mercenaries have murdered hundreds of bystanders, Jo Nah attacks them. Kono joins the fight. Together they kill both the mercenaries. After the battle, Jo returns to the wreckage to retrieve a memento from his days with the Legion.
