Comments:
George Emmett, Mavis Trent, and Joe Tracy were each associated with previous incarnations of Hawkman both in Earth-1 continuity and in the Post-Crisis continuity which existed from 1986-1989. As with Hawkman himself, these character appearances cannot be properly reconciled with their previous incarnations. Mavis and Joe were both dead in Post-Crisis continuity. In order to differentiate between the earlier Post-Crisis incarnations, these versions will be considered entirely separate characters.
This story continues in Hawkworld #3.
Synopsis:
Katar and Shayera arrive on Earth and are greeted by ambassador Darl Klus. The are introduced to the media with the help of Joe Tracy, a public relations expert. While Katar attends a party hosted in his honor, Shayera is provided an opportunity to study police methods on Earth by going on patrol with Chicago police.
Byth uses the absorbascon to assilimate Earth culture. He then transforms members of a street gang into monsters. The gang attacks the party held for Katar and abduct museum curator Mavis Trent. Katar, now given the name Hawkman, follows in pursuit.
