This story is continued from Adventures of Superman Annual #2.

Synopsis:
Vril Dox leads L.E.G.I.O.N. to Colu where he intends to kill Brainiac. The villain has tried to take over the population, but they have largely resisted his attempts at mind control. When L.E.G.I.O.N. arrives they defeat several mutated residents of Colu who were transformed by Brainiac. The team appears to have won, but Brainiac is able to turn the team against Dox.

Vril is forced to stand trial for his actions. The mind controlled L.E.G.I.O.N. members testify against him. The arrival of Superman, who followed the team from Earth, saves him. While Superman battles Lobo, Dox faces the rest of the team. He is able to break Brainiac's influence over his team and capture the villain.

Dox asks the people of Colu if Brainiac should be executed. They agree. However, Lyrissa Mallor proves that Dox had manipulated their minds to follow him. Lobo then continues his fight with Superman which allows Brainiac time to escape. With Brainiac fled, Superman returns to Earth. L.E.G.I.O.N. departs, and Dox renews his vow to find and kill his father.
