Synopsis:
Underworld chief Vince Varden gathers seven amazing inventions designed for criminal purposes. The last of these inventions is a gas that Varden believes will end Batman's career.

Varden's gang use the machines to rob Gotham City. Batman tries to stop their first crime, but the inventions allow the crooks to escape. Batman then meets the crooks at their next robbery and is exposed to the gas.

While trailing the crooks back to their hide-out, Batman's chest emblem and Robin's "R" fall off their costumes. Batman realizes that the gas must destroy silk, including their bat-ropes. When Batman attempts to use the bat-rope, it breaks. The crooks think Batman has fallen to his death, but Batman tricks them with a dummy. Finally, Batman and Robin apprehend the crooks and capture the crime inventions.
