Synopsis:
Strong Bow comes across an attack led by Chinook warriors on a caravan of Wenatchi. He fights off the attackers, but the Wenatchi are already dead or dying. One of the dying warriors draws a map and requests that Strong Bow finish carrying their treasure home. The treasure is a totem pole.

Strong Bow follows the map which leads to the foot of Mount Rainier which is an active volcano. The Wenatchi are trapped in a canyon by the Chinook which surround them. They fear that the volcano will erupt and wipe them out for they cannot leave. They hoped to place the totem pole on the mountain to appease the spirits and prevent an eruption.

Strong Bow attempts to help the Wenatchi, but he is captured by the Chinook. He summons a mountain lion which is able to free him. He then collects the weapons of the Chinook and throws them in the river. With the Chinook disarmed, the Wenatchi are able to leave the canyon. The mountain then erupts. Both the Chinook and Wenatchi are forced to leave the area and find new homes in peace.
