Synopsis:
Seeking to rid himself of the Golden Gladiator, Cinna approaches Caius, a wealthy collector of gold. Cinna convinces Caius that he must own the Golden Gladiator to make his collection complete. After watching Marcus in the arena, Caius agrees and has the gladiator kidnapped. Using Lucia as a hostage to guarantee Marcus's cooperation, Caius forces the Golden Gladiator to fight in a private arena. Although the sport has been fixed for him to lose, Marcus manages to gain control of his opponent's chariot. He then escapes the arena with Lucia.
