Synopsis:
While waiting for a menace to emerge from the Idol-Head of Diabolu, the Martian Manhunter and Zook see a purple flying creature that shoots a deadly beam from its eyes. J'onn fights the creature and is pulled through a space warp. His battle with the creature continues on another world, where two aliens transform him into a duplicate of the creature. The aliens then trap the first creature and explain that they are friends. While they changed J'onn to protect him, they have difficulty changing him back.

J'onn returns to Earth in the form of the purple flying creature. The Idol-Head has released a flame creature which Zook has been unable to stop alone. J'onn lures the creature through the space warp, where it is disabled on the alien world. The aliens then change J'onn back to normal, and he returns home.
