This story is continued from Legion of Super-Heroes #49.

Synopsis:
With the assistance of Rond Vidar, Brainiac 5 finally creates a machine that can break the time barrier. The other Legionnaires reluctantly help him create the machine, despite their growing concerns about the conspiracy at work within the team. When the machine, which uses the power of Jaxon Rugarth the Infinite Man, is ready Brainiac 5 activates it. However, he manipulated the controls so that only his fellow conspirators were transported through time with him.

Brainiac 5, Mon-El, Saturn Girl, and Duo Damsel all arrive safely at the End of Time to confront the Time Trapper. Rond Vidar has also joined them to Brainy's surprise. The Legionnaires then battle the Time Trapper. Mon-El is physically defeated by the Trapper's might, Saturn Girl is unable to mentally dominate her foe, Duo Damsel has one of her bodies disintegrated by the villain, and Brainiac 5 is forced to admit the Trapper's power.

Rond surprises everyone by revealing that he is a Green Lantern, having inherited the power ring from his father Universo who was a rogue member of the Corps. Even the power ring is not enough to turn the battle against the Trapper. However, Brainiac 5 explains that the Trapper's belief that the universe has a defined beginning and end is only one theory. Another is that time is an infinite loop. This theory is represented by the Infinite Man, who suddenly appears.

As the Trapper's world implodes around them, the Infinite Man and the Time Trapper become locked in combat. A portal opens as the beginning and end of time become joined. Brainiac 5 uses his force shield to give the two giants a push through the vortex into oblivion. Rond then uses his power ring to trigger a recall device which transports the Legionnaires home secure in the knowledge that the Time Trapper has finally been defeated.
