Synopsis:
Clark Kent arrives for work at the Daily Planet and discovers that his x-ray vision is malfunctioning. When he begins losing control of his other powers, Clark leaves, fearing that he might injury someone. In the sky above Metropolis, Superman is attacked by an armored robot known as Klaash. Without full control of his power, Superman causes excessive damage around the city prompting the Special Crimes Unit to take action. Klaash however is invisible to them.

Superman eventually deduces the cause of his malfunctioning powers. He locates a satellite that Luthor put in orbit that was bombarding Metropolis with solar energy. Luthor was then able to manipulate the energy spectrum and cause Superman's powers to overload. Klaash was designed by Luthor to be invisible to normal eyesight and only Superman's infra-red vision allowed him to be seen. Maggie Sawyer brings Luthor to the police station, but she can not charge Luthor with any crimes.
