Synopsis:
Batman appears on the streets of Gotham City, immobilized by an iron bat attached to his back. Police are unable to remove the iron bat, so Green Lantern is summoned. GL uses his power ring to free Batman. As GL leaves town, he sees Batman flying in his whirly-bat. GL then realizes that the person he freed was an imposter. Batman suspects the Time Commander.

Batman's guess is correct. The Time Commander used the iron bat to store power from Green Lantern's ring. Using that power he is able to bring a humanoid named Cosmo to Earth. Cosmo was created by Dr. Elijah Carruthers, then banished into limbo. Time Commander plans to use Cosmo for his own purposes, but the humanoid turns against him, forcing the villain to flee into another dimension.

Batman and Green Lantern battle Cosmo on the streets of Gotham City. GL's ring is powerless to stop the creature. Batman learns that Carruthers is alive, and Cosmo is searching for him. Batman finds him first as a patient at a nursing home. The Caped Crusader disguises himself as Carruthers in order to trick Cosmo.

The Time Commander appears again intending to take control of the humanoid. Batman stops him, but his ruse is exposed. Fortuantely the real Dr. Carruthers arrives with a formula that when combined with GL's ring sends Cosmo back into limbo.
