Synopsis:
Three mysterious plane crashes draw the attention of Green Lantern. Each of the pilots went down in the same spot after encountering harpies. Each of the crashed planes is then found with its cargo stolen.

Mr. Hawk, the young plane dispatcher, does not want to fly in a plane to investigate. His father, a railroad man, believes that his son is a coward. The older man takes a plane himself and runs across the harpies. Green Lantern rescues him.

The young Mr. Hawk then takes up a plane himself. Only after takeoff does his father learn that his son was not a coward but had a dangerous heart condition. Flying could kill him. Green Lantern protects Mr. Hawk, then exposes the cause of the crashes. Another pilot, Bragg, directed the crashed planes into danger using a movie projector to make harpies appear on the clouds. Bragg is apprehended, and his operation is dismantled.
