This story is continued from the second story of Detective Comics #396.

Synopsis:
Batgirl is attacked while following Max Tournov whom she suspects is a killer. The man attacking her is not Max, and he knocks her out briefly. Max then appears to help. The attacker has fled.

Having unsuccessfully attempted to find the killer, Barbara accepts another date through the matchmaking service. John Milman arrives at her door with an orchid. He is not the man from the alley. She goes on a date with him, then an argument ensues. Jason Bard chases John away before Babs can prove he is the killer.

Once she gets away from Jason, Batgirl reaches Milman's apartment. She discovers that Milman, Max, and the man from the alley are all the same man with a grudge against red-heads. She has finally caught the killer.
