This story takes place during the campaign in North Africa.

Synopsis:
While marching through the desert of North Africa, one member of Easy, Farmer Boy, tries to keep a small plant alive. Farmer Boy has kept the plant with him trying to encourage it to grow. After he is killed by an enemy tank, Farmer Boy's plant finally grows into a flower. Rock and Easy Company hold their positions to protect the flower. They finally defeat the enemy tank with the flower still intact.
