This is "Johnny Peril's Surprise Story" and was not originally titled.

Synopsis:
Johnny Peril visits the jungles of Africa in search of a missing explorer and his daughter. The explorer had been searching for the lost of of Diaz, a Spanish conqueror. Johnny's guide leaves him stranded in the jungle, where he saves a native warrior from a lion. Johnny is then captured by a tribe of natives known as the Chingi Chingi.

Johnny finds the explorer has also been taken prisoner by the natives. A man named King Flack is masquerading as a god wearing the Spanish armor of Diaz. The native Johnny rescues releases the captives, allowing Johnny to escape. He then returns wearing armor of his own. He convinces the natives that they were duped, and Flack is killed. Johnny then discovers the lost treasure under Flack's body.
