Synopsis:
Jonathan Kent hires the son of Roscoe Bowles to be his new assistant at the general store. Edgar Bowles proves to be a bumbler, so Superboy has to help prevent disasters from ruining the store. Jonathan can't fire Edgar because he doesn't want to anger Roscoe.

Meanwhile, Superboy is working to track down a gang of hijackers. He soon discovers that Edgar is working with a rival store which is supplied by the stolen goods of the hijackers. Superboy apprehends the gang. He then exposes Edgar's accidents as deliberate attempts to ruin the Kent store. The boy is actually an imposter planted by the hijackers.

With the scheme exposed, the real Edgar arrives to work at the store.
