Wealthy Henry Guile III wants to be a respected actor. However, his acting skill is poor. He decides to finance his own plays, but they receive bad reviews. Guile continues them anyway resulting in his bankruptcy. Vowing that he will earn back his money through crime, Guile becomes an international thief.

Batman and Robin follow Guile to England where the Globe-Trotter is staging another crime. The Caped Crusaders deduce his target, but Guile escapes across the English Channel.

Batman then stakes out the Louvre when he believes that Guile intends to steal the Mona Lisa. He later realizes that a clue left by the thief points elsewhere. Batman tracks down Guile and corners him atop the Eiffel Tower. With the Globe-Trotter in custody, the international law community gives Batman an award for his efforts.
