Synopsis:
Since the disappearance of Swamp Thing, Abby Cable taken a job as a caretaker at Spanish Acres, a home for the elderly. When one of the residents dies, Abby leaves work questioning whether she can handle the depressing job. She receives a phone call from Chester indicating that a monster was recently seen in the swamps.

Abby and Chester visit the swamp in hopes that Swamp Thing is alive. Instead Abby finds her father Gregori Arcane, the Patchwork Man. Gregori has been stumbling through the swamps, confused, and looking for Abby. However, he does not want her to see him as the monster that Anton Arcane made him. Gregori flees into the rainy night and falls apart. In the morning Abby finds his lifeless body, but his head is never found.
