Synopsis:
Mark Merlin is called to the country where an alien space ship has landed. Via telepathy Mark learns that the aliens plan to alter Earth's atmosphere by transforming plants into gas producings organisms. Mark finds an alien alone and steals his weapon. Several aliens chase him, but Mark is able to destroy the gun before they catch him.

When Mark is caught, the aliens explain that they are trying to protect Earth. The aliens transforming the plants are criminals. Without the gun that Mark destroyed, the alien lawmen cannot stop the crooks. Mark fixes the situation himself by tricking the alien criminals into removing their helmets. Earth's atmosphere poisons them and allows the criminals to be captured.
