Comments:
This story contradicts Batman’s known history. Bruce Wayne is a teenager in this story and his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, are still shown to be alive. In all other stories of Bruce’s childhood, his parents died when he was much younger and they always lived in Gotham, never Smallville. For the purposes of continuity, it is best to assume that the parents depicted in this story are not Thomas and Martha Wayne. They may be another couple serving as Bruce's guardians.

Synopsis:
Using his time-telescope, Superboy views his future self and his sometime partner, Batman. When a new boy arrives in Smallville, Bruce Wayne, Superboy knows that he will eventually become Batman.

Bruce begins attending Smallville high school and develops a liking for Lana Lang. Lana convinces Bruce to wear a Flying Fox costume and stop some crooks. After Bruce’s success, Lana also convinces Bruce to try and discover Superboy’s secret identity.

Later, Bruce, as the Flying Fox, assists Superboy who agrees to make Bruce his partner. Bruce secretly tapes a recording of Superboy’s voiceprint and matches it to Clark Kent’s. Then Bruce helps Superboy escape from a Kryptonite boulder which some crooks trapped the Boy of Steel with.

Back at home, Bruce tells Clark that he has discovered his secret identity. Superboy shows Bruce that it was fated to happen because they were destined to be partners. Bruce decides not to tell Lana and has Superboy hypnotize him into forgetting the entire encounter.
