Synopsis:
Two identical aliens arrive on Earth and seek out Superman in his secret identity. The aliens use a spectrum-beam on several men who have similar builds to Superman. The men disappear, leaving only their clothes behind. Eventually the aliens use the device on Clark Kent. Since he is invulnerable, the device doesn't work, but Clark uses super-speed to make them believe it does. Superman then follows the aliens back to their hide-out.

When Superman confronts the aliens, they claim to be Duplorians. They have come to Earth to warn Superman about the tyrant Torr. The vanished men are still alive and will be returned unharmed. However, Torr's spies find the aliens before they can complete their warning. The aliens are killed, but manage to give Superman a clue.

Superman follows the clue and finds a Duplorian base. The aliens plan to move Earth from its orbit, thus destroying the planet. Superman destroys their machine and also saves other worlds under similar peril. Superman then finds Torr, who has gone insane. After ensuring the threat is over, Superman returns to Earth and reappears as Clark Kent with the other vanished victims.
