Synopsis:
Mark Merlin is summoned to the lab of Professor Garston. In his experiments the professor has created tiny single celled growths. While his assistant, Philip Thaler was examining one of the growths he was reduced to tiny size and became trapped. Mark Merlin and Elsa shrink themselves by repeating Thaler's actions. They enter the growth looking for Thaler.

Once on the surface of the sub-atomic world, Mark and Elsa are chased by a race of strange creatures. They avoid capture and eventually find Thaler who has discovered a funnel flower that has fumes which can shrink objects.

Mark, Elsa, and Thaler attempt to complete their escape to a prearranged point where Garston can pick them up. The creatures prevent them from reaching their destination. Mark realizes that the creatures are intelligent and only want to protect the funnel flower. Mark returns it to them, then escapes the tiny world with the others.
