The Challenge of the Gods Book 1

This story continues in Wonder Woman #11.

This issue was a wraparound gatefold cover.

Synopsis:
Zeus observes Wonder Woman on Paradise Island. Pan advises him to reward her by sleeping with her. Diana is summoned before Zeus, but she refuses his offer of communion of the flesh. Angered Zeus returns to Olympus.

Hippolyte is then summoned to appear before the Gods of Mount Olympus. Zeus is angry at the Amazons, but the goddesses have talked him into giving their favored race a chance. Zeus demands that the Amazons meet a challenge.

Diana is the sent through the doorway to evil which the Amazons are sworn to guard. Inside she is shocked to find a shell casing from a pistol. Wonder Woman is then attacked by Cottus. After dispatching the dark creature, she continues on to her next challenge, the Hydra.
