Synopsis:
Jimmy Olsen investigates a remote mountain area in which strange lights in the sky have been spotted. He discovers a race of alien termite creatures that have started to invade Earth. He calls Superman for help, but Jimmy is hit by one of their weapons.
Superman rushes Jimmy to a hospital. The doctors believe that Jimmy is dying. Perry then gives Jimmy's reporting assignment to Clark Kent. When Jimmy makes a remarkable turnaround, Superman comes to visit. Jimmy pretends that he is still dying. Superman then grants a last request and reveals his secret identity to Jimmy.
A short time later Jimmy is released from the hospital. He returns to work at the Planet, but he is still jealous after learning that Superman planned to replace him with a member of the Jimmy Olsen Fan Club. Jimmy announces that he will reveal Superman's secret identity publicly. However, a series of events convince Jimmy that Superman is under the influence of Red Kryptonite. He believes that Superman has been lying. As a result, Jimmy no longer believes that Superman is Clark.
