Synopsis:
Challenged by Clark Kent, Lois Lane goes in search of a story without the help of Superman. She overhears a conversation between several men whom she believes are killers. When she accidentally confronts the men, she instead learns that they only intend to make a financial killing by selling a newly developed drug.

One of the men mentions that the men plan to keep the drug to themselves to drive up the price. Lois intends to write a critical story about them withholding a beneficial drug from society, so the men kidnap her. They then admit that the drug is a fake anyway and that they were using it to get money from a wealthy promoter.

The crooks try to drug Lois, but she resists. In doing so, she causes the lab to catch fire which results in a chemical explosion. The police arrive to arrest the men. Lois then delivers the story to the Daily Planet.
