Comments:
Superman visits the town of Smallville in this story. Based on his comments, it seems unlikely that this is the same town in which he grew up.

Synopsis:
When a bus accident causes Clark Kent to be delayed in the town of Smallville, he meets two candidates for public works commissioner. The first is Howard Brent, an honest man. The second is Jed Scapely, a crooked politician. To influence the upcoming election, Scapely frames Brent's son Raymond for theft and arson.

Superman stops a fire set by Scapely's men. He then warns Brent that he believes that Scapely is responsible for framing Raymond. Howard and Raymond both attempt to confront Scapely and overhear his illegal plans. Scapely plans to kill them, but Superman saves them. The father and son then help the Man of Steel capture the crooks.
