Synopsis:
Clark Kent visits Bernard Demarest, Jr. the heir to a fortune. Clark hopes that the young man will donate to the Metropolis Aid Fund which helps the poor like his father did. However, Demarest is not interested in charity. Instead the young heir is obsessed with his antiquities collection including a recently acquired lamp which allegedly contains a genie.

Superman decides to play the genie in order to teach Demarest about the world. Using super speed he remains invisible to the young man while using his powers to grant wishes. Superman takes Demarest to Forgotten Alley, a poor section of Metropolis. There he meets two kindly people who offer to assist the young man despite not having anything to call their own.

When Demarest returns home, crooks led by Crawfish Cole steal the lamp. Superman continues to play genie, but uses the crooks' words against them. Demarest then tricks the crooks into wishing to be taken to jail. The young heir then smashes the lamp and offers his help to the Metropolis Aid Fund. He has learned that people are tempted to misuse great power and has his eye opened to the world around him.
