Synopsis:
Criminal Carl C. Cave begin following a superstition centered around the number three. Cave believes that the number holds a special power for him, so he centers all his crimes around it. The number appears to work as Cave and his men are able to complete several robberies and evade Batman.
After a series of successful robberies, Cave decides to hide-out in an abandoned mine. His gang leaves him, and Batman receives a clue to Cave's whereabouts. Batman and Robin chase Cave through the mine. Cave takes tunnel 3 which should lead to safety, but instead he is led right into Batman's hands. Cave mistakenly read the tunnel 8 sign as tunnel 3. As a result, Batman apprehends the crook.
