Comments:
Robin is sent back to Superboy’s time from the present to prevent a calamity from striking Superman. Since he was successful in destroying the weapon in the past, the events of the timeline were altered, therefore in the current timelime Superman was not nearly killed.

Luthor appears in this story but looks significantly older than he should, and it appears he even has some hair.

Synopsis:
A stadium owner Pete Groff is holding a science fair. He has invited several scientists and Superboy to attend. Prior to going to the fair, Superboy meets Robin. He has traveled back in time because a Kryptonite bomb hidden in a trophy clock from the fair, has nearly killed Superman in Robin’s time.

Several crimes are committed during the fair. Superboy and Robin suspect one of the scientists is responsible for the machines the crooks use. After successfully stopping each crime Superboy is awarded a trophy. After the final crime, the mastermind of the crimes is revealed to be Luthor.

Superboy receives a final trophy, the clock bomb. He throws it into space and discovers it was Groff behind it. Groff wanted to destroy the stadium for insurance purposes. With the clock gone, Robin returns to his own time, where presumably the bomb no longer hurts Superman.
