Synopsis:
Johnny enlists in the army. His commanding officers soon become disgusted by Johnny's inability to be a good soldier. Johnny is then put to work as a messenger for Colonel Roscoe. However, Johnny mixes up messages which results in trouble for the colonel. Johnny is then given guard duty as punishment.

While standing guard, Johnny lets a group of men past him. The men are saboteurs and have drugged the food of the men on the base. Only Johnny remains awake. He doesn't realize the men are spies and helps them destroy a cannon. Johnny finally discovers his mistakes and uses the Thunderbolt to help wake the men and stop the saboteurs. Johnny is then kicked out of the army.
