Synopsis:
A cargo ship arrives in port with its entire crew dead and cargo missing. A merchant accuses Jon Valor of the piracy. No evidence exists to link Jon to the crime, but he is exiled from town.

To clear his own name, Jon dresses as the Black Pirate and leaves word that another ship is to arrive with three town merchants including his accuser Elihu Buck. To each merchant he gives a different name for the ship.

Later, when his ship falls under attack by pirates, they mention the name given only to Buck. The Black Pirate defeats Buck’s pirates and returns to Sutton. He points out Buck to the authorities who find the missing cargo in Buck’s possession and arrest him.
