Synopsis:
Jonah Hex is hired by Preston, the owner of the Huddleston-Downing Express to protect a shipment of gold being carried by stagecoach. The Hauschel Gang attacks the coach and kills all the guards except Jonah. He makes it back to town where he is approached by Cobb Wisner, the cousin of one of the gang members. Wisner wants Jonah's help in getting the gold for himself. Hex refuses the offer, and goes after the gang to satisfy his own code of honor.

That night Jake Hauschel double-crosses his own gang and kills them in their sleep. One man, Matt Borden, Wisner's cousin, survives the attack and kills Hauschel. However, he is wounded. Borden attempts to reach Doc Swazer, but his cousin stops him. Wisner tries to get the location of the gold out of Borden. However, the delay in medical treatment results in the outlaws death. Wisner is then hung by the townspeople. Jonah stands back and lets it all happen. The gold is never found.
