Synopsis:
Slam is hired by the owner of a jewelry store after a thief steals a diamond, then disappears from the store basement. After receiving the assignment, Slam and Shorty stroll past a toy store. In the window they see crooks. A fight ensues, and the crooks are chased away. Bert Jones the store owner is upset because the crooks were cutting up his teddy bears.

Later the same gang of crooks ambush Slam and Shorty. While the detectives are down, the bandits search them. When Slam recovers he realizes what the crooks were after. He returns to the toy store to await the return of the crooks. When they arrives, Slam chases them into the basement. He then goes next door to the jewelry store to catch them and the shop owner. The basements were connected through a secret door. The jewelry store owner had stolen his own diamond and hidden it in a teddy bear. He then claimed it stolen for the insurance payoff. Slam's intervention foils his plans.
