Synopsis:
Slam Bradley and his partner Shorty Morgan attend the orchestra of Boris Sergi. During the performance, the drummer strikes a kettle drum, but instead of a loud boom it makes a soft plink noise. The conductor is so angry he stops the music to berate the drummer.

Slam and Shorty break up the fight only to find gangster Foxy Louie and his gang on the scene. Slam fights the crooks and chases them away, but the drum disappears during the commotion.

Later that night Slam has a realization that the drum was being used to smuggle contraband into the country. He returns to the music hall where Louie is retrieving the smuggled goods from other instruments. Slam stops him and puts an end to the smuggling operation. The conductor then offers to compose a symphony in Slam's honor.
